An excellent reputation for supplying high quality filling machines has secured Riggs Autopack a recent order from Tiresford Guernsey Gold. Cheshire based Tiresford are a
first generation of family farmers producing award winning natural yoghurt and a range of fruit yoghurts containing fragile particulates, using milk from their Guernsey cows.
Tiresford Guernsey Gold was established in 2004 by father and son team Andrew and John Hope, run as the yoghurt production subsidiary of their Tiresford farm. Over the years demand for their goods increased and Tiresford’s owners realised that to keep pace they needed a semi-automated depositing system.

It was paramount that when sourcing a new filling machine, they had complete confidence in an established, industry respected depositing machine manufacturer and supplier. They
still needed exceptional quality standards in finished goods and therefore required a damage free and highly accurate form of automated yoghurt depositing.
Following successful machine trials at their Cheshire farm it was clear that Lancashire based machine manufacturer Riggs Autopack were able to provide a superior form of
volumetric filling. As a direct result Tiresford Guernsey Gold recently purchased a semiautomatic table top filling machine from Riggs to fill 140g fruit yoghurt pots and 400g natural yoghurt pots.
This compact and robust volumetric filler is ideally suited for small to medium scale food
manufacturers producing short batch runs, or those manufacturers who need to improve
production rates by moving from manual filling to a more accurate and repeated process. It
provides damage free handling of hot or cold food and liquid products, outstanding filling
accuracy and weight control, and the new filling machine at Tiresford has been easily
integrated into existing production systems.
