Warburtons managing director resigns
Robert Higginson, Warburtons’ managing director has left the UK bakery firm after eleven years.
Higginson, who was Warburton’s finance director for five years prior to becoming managing director, has stepped down to pursue ‘other interests’.
Warburtons said that Jonathan Warburton, the firm’s chairman would additionally take on the role of chief executive until a replacement is appointed.
“We can confirm that Robert Higginson has left the business to pursue other interests,” said a company spokesperson.
“This was a joint decision made by both Warburtons and Robert. Whilst we recruit to fill the role, Jonathan Warburton will step in to lead the business, assuming the role of both chairman and chief executive with full support and involvement from Ross and Brett Warburton.
“We would like to thank Robert for his commitment to the business and we wish him all the best for the future.”
