Warburtons and Payne to talk at Packaging Innovations’ learnShops
Warburtons and Payne are among the well-known names who will be taking part at the Packaging Innovations’ learnShops seminars
They are due to speak at the event, which takes place on 27-28 February at Birmingham’s NEC, as part of its line-up of around 40 free-to-attend learnShop seminars.
One of the headline presentations will be given by Payne’s Martin Dallas, who will discuss the role of packaging in making consumers lives easier. The news comes as the firm recently commissioned a survey that found that consumers are more concerned about pack openability rather than over-packaging.
Another leading name present at the show will be Warburtons. Warburtons research and development manager Emma Thomas will share discuss the bakery category in relation to the packaging industry.
The firm stated that, traditionally, bakery is a low involvement category, and as such, packaging has been a bit of an outcast in the marketing mix.
However, as consumers become savvier about what goes into the brands and products they buy and more skilled in articulating their needs and desires, packaging is gradually turning into a protagonist and Warburtons know well how not to ignore the signs.
Elsewhere, product designers and foodservice packaging entrepreneurs Luke Booth and Chris Eves tell the story of how they set up their own packaging innovation business, P4CK – then secured contracts with some of the biggest venues in the UK and funding from millionaire Theo Paphitis.
Speaking to PN, Eves said: “P4CK are really excited about Packaging Innovations. We are looking forward to seeing some innovation and showcasing our concepts which provide a packaging point of difference.”
Other major brands and leading speakers will be speaking that include from Sunny Delight, Landa, and Arla Foods.
