Unterelbe-Frucht Handelsges.mbH & Co launch new ranges to meet all categories and consumer deman
Using their unique concentration process to make ‘high fruit’ pieces, pastes and shapes, Unterelbe-Frucht makes the difference between a good product and a great product.
Fruit inclusions have been adding value in all food categories over recent years with customers looking towards the health benefits of fruit to add value and a point of difference for the consumer.
For over 25 years Unterelbe-Frucht have been providing customers with a variety of ingredients in sizes from irregular cut 2-4mm through to 6x9mm and larger. Using only Natural Ingredients, the recipes are extremely flexible and products can be made with or without adding sugar and can contain as much as 700g of fruit per 100g of pieces, paste or shapes.
Kurt Hoffmann Director of Sales and Marketing said “We recognise that the needs from each customer and category can be quite different. It’s not as simple as “one size fits all” and so we have created a variety of formulations that can not only deliver great taste, texture and colour, but will perform in a way that can add value and help differentiate from the competition.”
Showcasing at this year’s FIE will be the new ParadICE fruit pieces that can be added directly to ice cream or frozen desserts without affecting the semi-chewy characteristics of the fruit piece. “In a variety of fantastic flavours including ‘superfruits’ such as Blueberry and Pomegranate, this is something quite different for the industry” said Hoffmann.
For those who are really looking to make a difference in the Health & Wellbeing category, Unterelbe ‘Only-Fruits’ range that offers over 700 SFE (single fruit equivalent) are something special. “This range is made from 100% fruit derived ingredients and comes in a variety of shapes and textures. This really is new and exciting for us and something the industry hasn’t seen before. We are really excited about the products and have received some fantastic feedback from the market already” he added.
Also on show will be the new range of high-fruit, bake stable pieces that can be utilised in both bakery and cereal bar applications. With over 300 SFE, fruit is the first ingredient, meaning it will appeal to those who prefer to use a ‘cleaner’ ingredient list and yet have a product that is still extremely functional whether baked or not.
Fruit is not the only option that the business has to offer. The unique concentration process used is about delivering a taste and texture for customers and so they can be as creative as they want. Flavours such as Caramel and Honey are made, as too are Vegetable flavours. Already on offer in the range are Tomato and an Olive piece and because the process is so flexible, if the customer has their own Vegetable combination that they would like to see then most things are possible. In a similar way that the Only-Fruit range is made, a vegetable alternative can also be produced although the trend for this particular type of range is not so established.
So, whether you are baking biscuits, cakes and muffins, creating confectionery products or delivering healthy fruit snacks, be sure to visit the stand in 1F 65 and be amazed by what is on offer.
