Temperature controlled food logistics firm ACS&T’s trading profit rise from £0.1million in 2011 to more than £1.1million in 2012.

Its profit before tax was £0.7m, up £0.6m since 2011 despite exceptional costs of £0.5m relating predominantly to property charges.

Managing director, Malcolm Johnstone, explains: “Our 2012 results reflect our long standing program of continuous investment in our infrastructure, staff and quality systems.

“The continued commitment and efforts of our staff, and substantial capital investment over the past year in our IT infrastructure, properties and commercial vehicle fleet, have also played an important part in our renewed success, and we believe that we will continue to expand our growth in 2013.”

ACS&T has operational sites in Grimsby, Wolverhampton, Tewkesbury and Scarborough and 12 cold stores, three ambient stores, comprehensive co-packing facilities and large, dedicated and shared-user multi-temperature transport fleets.
