The season of goodwill saw a significant increase in contract packing case numbers for Oakland International, who in addition to the usual raft of contract packed products surging through the company’s warehouses, handled well over 1,000,000 million packs of stuffing, party foods and desserts to satisfy the nation.
Amongst the selection were mini pizza selections, tortes, tipsy gateau, ham hocks, oodles and oodles of filo pastry and the ever popular hearty dish of beef wellington.
Oakland International MD, Dean Attwell, stated: “The contract packing sector is continuing to demonstrate increased demand, with Oakland International firmly established as an outsourcing contract packing partner of choice, we anticipate organic growth is set to continue, and expand in 2013 and beyond.
“Focused on the job in hand, our work across the multi disciplines of the supply chain support all manner of ambient, chilled, frozen food and non food retail contract packing customers, with our next activity peaks on the horizon of distributing pancakes for Shrove Tuesday, creamy deserts for Valentines before then moving on to Easter.”
Seasonal and all year, membership of the British Contract Manufacturers and Packers Association (BCMPA) and accredited by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) adds additional weight to the firm’s recognised skill set, with sector business growth representing major focus for the coming year.
