The Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining, The Packaging Society and Easyfairs UK & Global have announced that they will be working in partnership on the Starpack Industry Awards in 2016, with the Awards being presented at the Packaging Innovations & Luxury Packaging show atLondon’s Olympia on 14 & 15 September 2016.

The Starpack Industry Awards is in its 58th year and is designed to recognise innovation in packaging design and technology. Its core principles align closely with the aims of the Packaging Innovations exhibitions, which provide a forum for anyone involved in primary and secondary packaging to come together to discuss, learn, source and be inspired by the latest developments in the market.

Tim Lynch, Chair of the Starpack Advisory Board and Marketing Services Manager at Britvic Soft Drinks, comments: “We are delighted about the arrangement that we have come to with Easyfairs. This is a fantastic opportunity for the Awards to be centre stage of an event that is already integral to the packaging industry; and gives the Awards scope to reach a greater audience. And of course the Awards will bring a fantastic focal point for the exhibition as well, providing both theatre and a fantastic opportunity for the show visitors to see some of the very latest innovations.”

“Easyfairs has been a supporter of the Awards for many years, but this arrangement will bring the Starpack Industry Awards closer to the heart of the packaging market,” added Gerry Sherwood, Event Director of the Packaging Innovations events. “We are delighted to be supporting an initiative that recognises and actively encourages companies to innovate and constantly challenge the current thinking in the packaging world. Next year is already shaping up to be a very exciting time for the London show, and bringing the Awards into the event will create additional excitement to the proceedings.”

The Industry Awards will be presented across both days of the show, with half on the first day and the second half on day two; both running at lunchtime. Full details will be unveiled in the Spring 2016.
