Slim wine bottle can to be showcased at Canmaker Summit
Aluminium bottle producer Daiwa will be showcasing its ‘Slim Wine Bottle Can’ at the Canmaker Summit in Japan
Japan-based Daiwa said that the cans are lightweight, robust, easy to carry and recycle. It won an industry award last year and is increasingly being adopted by wineries in Japan.
In a statement describing the bottle, Daiwa said: “Daiwa Can developed the Slim Wine Bottle Can as a 100% aluminum bottle-shaped can to make wine more accessible for casual enjoyment, easier to hold and maintaining a form befitting the image of wine.
“The can has been developed to also satisfy a large number of exacting conditions, including being a reasonably priced single-serving size allowing stand-out retail display and using a screw cap with an all-aluminum composition enabling simple disposal and recycling.”
The can will be one of many products being highlighted at The Canmaker Summit, a yearly event where metal packaging professionals – who call themselves canmakers – meet and discuss the latest developments and technologies.
The Canmaker Summit is being held at the Tokyo Hilton from 27-28 September and is organised by UK-based SPG Events.
