SHS Group Expands Through Acquisition

Northern Ireland-based SHS Group has expanded into the cordials and squash market after acquiring a majority shareholding in Bottlegreen Holdings for an undisclosed figure. Bottlegreen is a British producer of a range of cordials and has a core consumer base of more than two million people.

“This is an important step in our overall strategy to identify household brands that can boost our business and establish a platform for future growth in British and Irish FMCG markets,” says Michael Howard, managing director of SHS Group.

Established in 1975, the SHS Group has a turnover of over £400 million. The group provides a strong financial base and centralised support for its operating companies, it operates in two distinct areas, brand ownership and sales and marketing.

SHS Group owns a number of well know brands such as WKD, Merrydown, Shloer, Farmlea, 1st Choice and Maguire & Paterson. Through its sales and marketing companies it also handles brands such as Jordans, Muller, Finish and Mars Consumer drinks. In addition the group is a major supplier of own label herbs and spices and wet condiments in Great Britain. SHS Group also owns Caledonian Bottlers which is a manufacturer of both group owned and private label beverages.
