Shropshire Spice Co turns to Quantum for reverse-printed packs
Quantum Print & Packaging has created a new look range of packs for the Shropshire Spice Company
The packs for the range of 14 stuffing mixes were printed four colour and feature foil blocking as well as a window to show the product inside.
Giles Foden, sales director for the Willenhall-based printer, toldPackaging News that the biggest challenge on the job was that it was reverse-printed, meaning it was printed on the uncoated matte, rather than the gloss, side of the board.
“The customer wanted a tactile finish and an earthy hue to the colours – getting the colour exactly right was a challenge so we tested a number of boards,” he said.
Foden said that due to the reverse printing, it was a bigger challenge to fold the board and Shropshire Spice, which is based in Clun, Shropshire, had invested in its filling lines to handle the packs.
The packs, which were designed by Salisbury Associates in Bristol, feature foil blocking on the words “Classic Blends” and on highlights around the window and the logo on the top of the pack.
Foden added that the company had increased its market share since the launch of the range.
