sealed-airUSA-based Sealed Air has made its Bubble Wrap IB protective packaging solution commercially available across the globe.

The bubble wrap packaging maker’s inflatable packaging helps in creating right-sized packages that will in turn help reduce freight costs and minimise waste.

It is claimed that this unpoppable cushion packaging material will help companies meet increasing e-commerce demand and supply chain efficiency.

Sealed Air product care president Ken Chrisman said: “As e-commerce continues to redefine the buying experience for consumers and businesses, companies need solutions like Bubble Wrap IB that can help them expedite, and better protect, the shipment of their products.”

Sealed Air’s Bubble Wrap IB is delivered flat and inflated on premise and on demand by the customer by using a simple-to-operate machine, the NewAir I.B. Express, therefore minimising material usage and the storage space required.

The new version of flexible, protective air-cellular solution uses Sealed Air’s Barrier Bubble technology to extend cushioning protection for warehousing or long ship cycles.

The Bubble Wrap IB’s specially designed bubbles are claimed to deliver 30% more protection power than competitive bubble technologies. This reduces the number of packaging layers generally used by the customers to wrap their products.

Chrisman further added: “Now, with Bubble Wrap IB’s self-serve protective packaging, companies around the world can create their packaging on site according to their needs, helping them to reduce freight costs, simplify order fulfillment and optimise the efficiency of their shipping facilities.”

With nearly 23,000 employees, Sealed Air serves customers in 169 countries.

The company offers Cryovac brand food packaging solutions, Bubble Wrap brand cushioning and Diversey cleaning and hygiene solutions to support safer and less wasteful food supply chain.

Sealed Air, founded by Alfred W. Fielding and Marc Chavannes more than half a century ago is now a multinational corporation with over 25,000 employees serving 175 countries.
