A family run ready meals manufacturer has returned to Riggs Autopack Ltd to help meet
increased demand. The company has expanded rapidly due to the growing requirement
for its premium quality products, especially from major European retailers, and
subsequently has needed to invest in further depositing and filling equipment.
Laila’s Fine Foods Ltd, which specialises in authentic ready meals for both the food
service and retail markets, has purchased another volumetric depositing machine with a
low mount hopper, from Riggs Autopack.

As well as helping to meet the growing demand, Laila’s Fine Foods invested in the
additional depositing equipment to increase flexibility, improve reliability and speed up
overall production. As a result the company has increased its total throughput and is now
able to use the same equipment for its entire product range.
Riggs Autopack’s equipment, which is easy to use and maintain, has allowed Laila’s to
reduce changeover times and minimise downtime. The Model 1000 machine is designed
for damage free handling of food products containing particulates up to 30mm cubed,
therefore minimising waste and helping to cut costs. This highly versatile depositing
equipment has been retro-fitted onto the customer’s existing production line and is
depositing components for ready meals in 300g to 1500g portion sizes at impressive
speeds.
It is now also able to deposit food products as diverse as curry, beef bourguignon and
layers in lasagne, which has opened up scope for further opportunities to develop its
product range thanks to the machinery’s versatility.

The company’s past experience with Riggs Autopack has been very good and this time
round was no exception. Machines from Riggs Autopack have proved reliable, robust and
simple to operate and maintain. It is from this excellent track record that Laila’s Fine Foods
Ltd decided to return to its original supplier of equipment.
