Refresco Acquires CCEP’s Milton Keynes Site in the UK
Refresco, the world’s largest independent bottler of beverages for retailers and A-brands with production facilities in Europe and North America, has agreed to acquire Coca-Cola European Partners’ (CCEP) Milton Keynes manufacturing site in the UK. Included in the agreement are a lease contract of CCEP’s warehouse site in Northampton and contract manufacturing activities.
The acquisition fits Refresco’s buy & build strategy and confirms the group’s focus on expanding its contract manufacturing business and manufacturing footprint in the UK.
Hans Roelofs, chief executive of Refresco Group, comments: “The UK is an important growth market for Refresco. With the Milton Keynes site we further strengthen our manufacturing footprint and ability to serve our customers locally. This acquisition also further strengthens our relationship with Coca-Cola European Partners, to whom we already provide contract manufacturing services in France, Germany and the Netherlands.”
It is anticipated that the acquisition will be completed by the end of this year.
