Pork Farms renews contract with 3PL specialist Oakland International
The pork pie and scotch egg brand leader, Pork Farms, have renewed their contract with multi temperature supply chain specialist, Oakland International, increasing product volume in excess of 30,000 case per week.
Working closely with Pork Farms, Oakland’s Midlands’s depot is geared to working to short order lead times on inbound product to help maximise shelf-life for end retailers, as well as providing a dedicated in-house resource to ensure the smooth execution of all orders and stock movement.
Oakland International’s Customer Services Manager, Lynsey McIntosh, stated: “Pork Farms produce high quality chilled savoury pastry products and we are delighted they have again chosen Oakland International as their preferred impulse supply chain partner.”
Supporting delivery of chilled savoury pastry product throughout mainland UK, Oakland will continue to support volume growth as Pork Farms continues to build on existing business with wholesalers and independents to maintain easy retailer access, with Oakland’s efficient tried and tested business model helping Pork Farms to reduce their supply chain carbon footprint, utilising single vehicle usage to replace multiple daily deliveries which previously came direct from a number of Pork Farm depots.
Pork Farm’s Head of Marketing commented: “We have a clear strategy to build a substantial impulse business building on the quality and positioning of our branded products. We needed a supply chain partner who could manage this complex route to market thereby allowing our own teams to focus on building the brand and ultimately, therefore, sales; Oakland is an ideal partner to help us achieve our strategic aims.”
Pork Farms products are stocked by all multiples, as well as Londis, Spar, Palmer & Harvey, Nisa and also a number of independent cash and carry and wholesalers.
