PMMI launches online risk assessment course
The Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) now offers an online learning course geared toward helping food packaging operations get a handle on mitigating safety risks.
Fundamentals of Risk Assessment is intended to help consumer packaged goods companies become familiar with risk assessment procedures to ensure safety in the workplace.
“Not only is there a legal and moral obligation for companies to perform a thorough risk assessment to minimize safety hazards for their employees, but these plans are becoming essential in conducting business between end users and suppliers,” PMMI technical director Fred Hayes said in a statement.
Hayes added that he e-learning module can be useful in getting senior management and other key personnel up to speed quickly about policies and procedures of risk assessment. It also provides an introduction to the organization’s two-day workshop that delves deeper into the topic.
