PFM launches new bagging machine
Italian kit manufacturer PFM has announced that it will unveil its new multi-mode Vetta II bagging machine at this year’s Total exhibition.
PFM said that the machine meets market demands for versatility by providing over 20 different bag styles from a single machine, in addition to traditional pillow packs.
These include block bottom stand-up pouches, PFM’s Steelo four corner seal stand-up bags, Amcor’s Flexcan pouch design and also re-closable bags, using adhesive, zipper profile or a novel system of miniature hooks. MAP facilities can be fitted.
According to the firm, the machine also meets food industry hygiene requirements, with easy access for cleaning and stainless steel construction, while a compact design gives low drop height for fragile goods and allows installation under most existing weigher gantry systems.
In addition, PFM is demonstrating a new high speed version of its inverted random length MAP flow-wrapper, the Shamal.
Control software and the sealing system have been improved, lifting maximum speed by 50% to 120 packs a minute, while items up to 190mm high can be handled for the meat, cheese and produce industries, according to the firm.
Further exhibits include two of PFM’s latest entry-level machines: the Pearl servo-driven flow-wrapper and the ZC1 combined weigher-bagger.
The Total exhibition runs from 4-6 June at the Birmingham’s NEC.
