PrintPlastic packaging manufacturer PFF Packaging Group has strengthened its capabilities and product offering with the acquisitions of UK-based Intelligent Packaging Solutions (IPS) and Thermopak.

The acquisitions will enable PFF Packaging to increase production to in excess of 60m units per month. As part of the deals, the company will benefit from the facilities offered by both parties’ manufacturing sites, along with an innovation centre housed at IPS’ premises in North East England.

The innovation centre will provide a creative hub for its product packaging design team to work on bespoke solutions for their clients, which include the UK’s four largest supermarket retailers, and will complement the PFF Packaging’s 100,000 square foot manufacturing site in Keighley, West Yorkshire.

PFF Packaging Group managing director Andy Bairstow said: “The acquisition of IPS and Thermopak furthers strengthens our ability to provide the complete, full-service packaging solution – from initial concept through to final delivery of the product. In addition, it cements our position in the marketplace as one of the UK’s largest independent packaging manufacturers.

“We also felt it was the perfect time for PFF Packing Group to go through a rebrand process to reflect the evolution of the company and our new capabilities. The final part of this process is the launch of our new website, which is an essential tool as we continue to grow and offers a new proposition to visitors. We wanted to create a site that illustrates our capabilities to deliver bespoke packaging and, furthermore, demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with the right packaging solution to meet their specific requirements. It is sleek, easy to navigate and offers a wealth of information on the group, whilst reinforcing the personal, high-quality, professional service we strive to deliver at each stage of the ‘customer journey’ from concept to consumer.”

The acquisition of the two sites will allow the company to build on existing client relationships and explore new opportunities, the company concluded.
