Para Print joins DuPont’s Flexo Plate Recycling Programme
Para Print will start to recover, reuse and recycle its flexographic printing plates and related materials using a programme developed by DuPont Packaging Graphics.
Participants in the TR3 programme are responsible for collecting DuPont Cyrel boxes, polystyrene in the boxes, developer rolls, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) cover sheets, Cyrel plates and trim waste. DuPont then recycles the returned materials in either secondary commercial applications or to generate energy as an alternative to fossil fuels.
Para Print president Ralph Zuccarini said that Para Print has a long-standing commitment to environmentally responsible operations.
“It’s our aim to meet, and even exceed, the environmental requirements of our valued customers and we offer this service at no additional charge to help them realise their goals.”
DuPont offers TR3 as a complete end-to-end programme, improving customers’ waste management effectiveness and helping them to meet sustainability goals. It has enabled the company to recover over one million pounds of materials within the past three years.
TR3 is currently available to customers in the eastern US who use at least 70% DuPont Cyrel flexographic printing plates.
Para Print’s flexographic printing plates and mats are used to print packaging and labels for a wide range of industries, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals and prepared foods.
