New CEO of PM Group takes up position
PM Group, the international engineering, architecture and project management firm which employs 1,600 people across 25 countries, has appointed Dave Murphy as its new Chief Executive Officer.
A chartered chemical
engineer with over 25 years experience, Dave has been a member of the executive committee since 2001 and was appointed to the Board of PM Group in 2006.
Since joining PM Group in 1989, Dave has held a variety of roles including general management, business development, engineering design and project and construction management working with a number of leading multi-national clients.
Welcoming Dave’s appointment as Chief Executive, Kevin Kelly, Chairman of the PM Group said, “Dave brings considerable experience to this role having spent the past 22 years working across all parts of the business including two periods spent working in the US.”
“Most recently Dave was Managing Director of Western Europe, one of the fastest growing operations across the Group. I wish him the best with his new role and every success in driving the organisation forward.”
Pat McGrath, the outgoing CEO, will remain with the Group as Deputy Chairman – International Development where his focus will be on international business development as the organisation continues its expansion into new geographies.
Kevin Kelly commended Pat McGrath for his considerable influence on the Group, he said, “Pat has been at the helm of PM Group for over a decade and during that time has used his exceptional leadership to ensure progress, growth and expansion. Pat’s vision, commitment and energy helped to steer the group through an important period of change as it transformed into a significant international operation with a global reputation for its professionalism, effective project delivery and high standards.”
Dave Murphy is a Chemical Engineering graduate of Cork Institute of Technology (1985) and holds an M Sc in Executive Leadership from the University of Ulster.
