Nestlé Germany has announced it plans to close the coffee plant in Mainz, by the end of 2017. An independent report, commissioned by the company has concluded that it would be uneconomical to modernise the facility which was constructed nearly 60 years ago.
The company will work with the factory’s works council and other partners to help the 380 employees affected by the potential closure, and continue to invest in its other facilities in Germany.
