Materials handling and automation specialist Exmac Automation Ltd relocates to a new purpose-designed facility
Leading materials handling and automation specialist Exmac Automation Ltd has relocated to a new purpose-designed 44,000 sq ft facility at Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire, with effect from Tuesday 28th August.
The new address is Unit 105, Pointon Way, Hampton Lovett, Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire WR9 0LW. The company’s new telephone number is 01905 773851.
Announcing the move, managing director Gary Sweeney says relocation was essential in order to build on the success of the business following the MacDonald Humfrey Automation (MHA) acquisition in 2010, and to manage future growth.
The new site, located just one M5 motorway junction north of the company’s former Worcester factory, will transform Exmac’s manufacturing facilities within a systematically re-planned and re-equipped working environment, which also includes more spacious office accommodation. In addition, the facility created an opportunity for Exmac to thoroughly review manufacturing and operational systems and ensure that all aspects of its business are fully integrated using the latest information technology.
Exmac, which is the largest British manufacturer of conveying, materials handling and logistics systems, provides comprehensive turnkey solutions that include design, manufacture, project management, factory assembly and testing, and installation.
Sweeney says the company has capitalised on the combination of its conveying and materials handling experience and MHA’s automation expertise to compete for larger contracts from major international companies such as JaguarLandRover, Rolls-Royce Aerospace and Nissan.
The increased workload has required a significant increase in personnel, with Exmac now employing 65 full-time staff, supported by a similar number of skilled contractors for major projects.
