Linpac Packaging has secured a contract to supply Poland’s meat processing company Pini Polonia with more than 100 million polystyrene trays annually.

The company’s facility in Bukowice, Poland, will supply trays to the meat processor.

Linpac Packaging vice president sales Adam Barnett said working in partnership with Pini Polonia, the company will deliver the trays to ensure its products are packaged to protect, preserve and present Pini Polonia’s pork products range.

“This is a significant new business win for our team at Bukowice, and underscores how our fresh thinking philosophy can deliver solutions which help our customers,” Barnett said.

UK-based Linpac claims that the company’s commitment to quality and health means that its trays will ensure better stands of food preparation and packaging for central and eastern retailers and consumers.

Pini Polonia begun its Polish operations in 2010 and has the capacity to process the slaughter and preparation of more than 1,000 pigs an hour.

The plant is in the process of obtaining permissions for export to the US, Canada, China, Philippines and Australia.

At present, the products are approved for export to all EU countries including Ukraine, commonwealth of independent states (CIS) countries, Japan, South Korea, Hong-Kong and New Zealand.

Linpac Packaging Bukowice supplies to the group’s distribution companies in Poland, Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and the Balkans.
