Leadership Changes at First Milk
First Milk’s new CEO, Mike Gallacher, who replaced Kate Allum in March, has announced a number of changes to the senior leadership of the business.
Kenny Bain takes up the role of First Milk’s Operations Director with immediate effect. He will be responsible for all of First Milk’s creameries and processing sites, its distribution network and supply chain partnerships.
Maureen Ross takes up the role of Group HR director with immediate effect, having previously held senior HR posts at Scottish Leather Group, Compass UK & Ireland, Barratt Developments and Santander. She is an experienced HR Director with a strong record of improving business performance through people development, engendering a culture of business excellence.
Paul Miley has taken on the role of Interim MD of First Milk’s sports nutrition business – CNP with immediate effect. He will complete a strategic review of the company and lay out options for the next phase of the business’s development. Paul Miley has worked in operations, marketing and finance roles for Mars, Michelin and ICI.
Mike Gallacher comments: “These new appointments strengthen the First Milk leadership team as we move rapidly to improve the First Milk business performance. Kenny, Maureen and Paul bring high levels of leadership, drive and commercial experience to First Milk and will play key roles in delivering our turnaround plan for the business.”
Mike Gallacher will be explaining the detail of this turnaround plan to First Milk’s members at meetings that will take place during the first two weeks of May.
First Milk is the UK’s only major dairy company, 100% owned by British farmers. It supplies a wide range of dairy products and dairy ingredients to customers in both national and international markets including block cheeses, soft cheeses, raw milk, butter, skimmed milk powder, whey proteins and sports nutrition brands.
It generates annual revenues of £610 million (2013/14 figures) and is headquartered in Glasgow with seven manufacturing sites across England, Scotland and Wales.
