Irish company Archipelago’s logo on Ben & Jerry’s’ tubs
For the first time, the logo of an Irish company, Archipelago, is being featured on tubs of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, following the brand’s ‘Join our Core’ competition.
Social entrepreneur John Egan from Tullamore, Co Offaly is the founder if Archipelago, a European network of youth entrepreneurs, and its logo can now be seen on tubs of the ‘Clever Cookies’ ice cream flavour.
Inspired by Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield’s dream to find Europe’s brightest young minds that share their philosophy of people being as important as profit, last year Ben & Jerry’s hosted the Join Our Core competition to find the world’s best social entrepreneurs.
Archipelago, alongside four other socially conscious start-ups from around Europe, also won mentoring for their business from Ashoka and €10,000 cash prize in addition to their logos on the tubs.
“Join Our Core was one of our company highlights to date and getting to pitch our business model to Jerry and the team in London was thrilling; to win it was even better.”
