The business which forms the sole occupant of the Bull & Gate building, will also occupy the top floor of neighbouring premises on Short Street, located on the historic 108 Steps Route.

The head office expansion across the two buildings, will allow Direct Food Ingredients to increase its sales force by 50 per cent over the next 12-18 months, facilitating the business to meet its ambitious growth targets.

The new Short Street building will accommodate the enlarged Direct Food Ingredients sales team, whilst the majority of other departments will remain in the Bull & Gate building.

Steve Loake, MD comments: “Last month the business celebrated its 21st anniversary, and it is exciting to mark the occasion with additional investment and expansion in our home town.

“We have benefitted enormously from tremendous growth over the past few years, a testament to our dedicated team, and our unique quality systems that we have worked so hard to put in place. It is fitting that we now take the business further still by creating the additional work space, allowing for team expansion.”

The business is an established leader in the importation, storage and distribution of functional foods, nutritional and sports ingredients as well as vitamin and mineral premixes.

Direct Food Ingredients is on target to reach a record £16m turnover by year end (31 December).  This represents £2.3 million up on last year, and showing significant growth across the last two years (the company achieved £9.057million turnover in

2014).
