GWP boosts capacity with £100k AXYZ Router
GWP Protective, the designer and manufacturer of specialist protective packaging, has said that it has significantly increased production capacity with the addition of an AXYZ multi-head router
GWP has invested in, what it calls, the state-of-the-art machine, built by AXYZ International, which has been installed at GWP’s specialist design and production facility in Salisbury in Wiltshire.
It features a multi-carousel tool change system, 4m x 2m table and extended height bridge.
According to the firm, the investment in this technology, costing around £100,000, will enable GWP to manufacture larger and more complex forms and significantly increase its overall capacity of engineered foam products for GWP’s specialist protective cases.
John Lee, general manager for GWP Protective said: “This is an important and strategic purchase of a modern and very versatile machine supported by the latest in software design that enables us to undertake both multi head routing and oscillating knife cutting. Having this level of manufacturing flexibility will ultimately open up new markets for GWP as it allows us to produce more complex shapes plus larger volumes of engineered foam inserts more competitively.”
GWP Protective’s bespoke packaging is supplied to a wide range of markets including defence, aerospace, offshore, medical and automotive industries.
