Grupo Bimbo Expands in Spain

Grupo Bimbo, the largest bakery company in the world, has agreed to acquire the Paterna plant from Cerealto Siro Foods in Valencia, Spain. The plant produces sliced bread and buns for Mercadona, under the Hacendado brand.
The acquisition will further strengthen Grupo Bimbo’s presence in Spain, extending its customer reach and its manufacturing footprint to better serve more consumers. The transaction is conditional upon approval by the Competition and Markets Commission.
Grupo Bimbo operates 198 plants and more than 1,700 sales centres strategically located in 32 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa
