GoodMills Innovation focussed on current consumer trends
At HiE in Amsterdam, the company presented solutions for Clean Label, health and wellbeing
Hamburg, December 2014 – At this year’s HiE, the former Kampffmeyer Food Innovation GmbH exhibited under its new corporate name, GoodMills Innovation GmbH, for the first time. The show presence with the new corporate branding focussed on the consumer trends for health, wellbeing and Clean Label. The company therefore presented grain-based ingredients for fibre enrichment as well as a functional flour that can replace emulsifiers and baking agents in many formulations.
Visitors to the company’s booth were able to see first hand Vein of Gold®, an innovative ingredient that can be used to enrich baked goods with fibre. This grain product was developed in collaboration with researchers and industry partners who took part in two EU-funded projects, HealthGrain and HealthBread. It consists of the aleurone layer which surrounds the starchy endosperm of the wheat kernel and is proven to contain the grain’s highest content of valuable nutrients, including dietary fibre, vitamins and minerals. Vein of Gold® is suitable for use in a wide array of baked goods, from pastry to bread. Depending on the dosage used, nutrition claims in line with the Health Claims Regulation may be made on pack.
Manufacturers looking to develop Clean Label formulations for wheat pan breadand toast bread, baguettes and pastry products were interested to find out more about Purafarin HydroSoft®. This functional flour ensures best rheological properties of dough in versatile applications. It has proven to be particularly ideal for Deep Pan pizza dough, where it provides a short texture, a perfect pore structure and superior softness. These properties are maintained even during several weeks of cold storage, making this Clean Label ingredient perfect for use in frozen pizzas.
