FoodTouch keeps it fresher longer
Microbeguard’s FoodTouch paper liners, introduced at the end of 2009 are claimed to be the first antimicrobial protected paper products designed to preserve the quality and extend the shelf life of perishable food items such as meat, poultry and fish.
The liners provide an advanced sanitary barrier for storing high-value, raw and cooked food items. This solution meets the challenge of keeping food fresh for extended periods of time thanks to the paper’s patented ridge design, says the company. The liners contain Agion antimicrobial technology.
The client list includes some of the USA’s top foodservice companies, restaurants, and hotels, especially in the seafood industry. Examples include Publix Supermarkets which adopted the FoodTouch liners for its produce section in all 1,000 stores and Darden Restaurants, a large full-service dining restaurant company which wraps its steak and seafood products with the paper liners.
The antimicrobial protected paper products can be customized to meet the specific needs for a variety of applications, it says. The process is flexible and can utilize a wide variety of components to create a tailored product of a different color (pink, blue, black, green, etc.), or a paper substrate, or customized size.
