Food Packers Can Make PPMA Pay With SidePouch
Users of the SidePouch™ FAS SPrint Revolution food bagging system from Automated Packaging Systems are reporting increased productivity using fewer operators, leading to quicker than anticipated payback periods.
Users list reliability, flexibility and quality among their top reasons for switching, as well as the FAS SPrint Revolution’s corrosion-resistant, stainless steel construction for daily washdown. There’s no doubt, however, that the low capital outlay requirements and substantial savings in bagged unit costs are making the decision easier.
The FAS SPrint Revolution system maximises packing productivity in both hand-load and fully automatic operations. It can bag at speeds of up to 120 bags per minute continuously and loading speed can be adjusted to optimise productivity for one or more operators.
SidePouch™ systems feature a conveyor that holds pre-opened bags ready for loading from a wide load area. After bags are filled, the conveyor carries them through an automatic sealer and dispenses them to outfeed conveyors or bulk packaging. The system can be easily integrated with a wide range of feeds and washdown-compatible inline printing equipment for semi- to fully- automatic packaging of portion or bulk packs.
FAS SPrint Revolution uses modular components for easy maintenance, and the entire load area tilts 90 degrees for access to all areas that require direct washdown.
Its intuitive software and AutoTouch™ Control Screen provide simple menu navigation for easy access to real-time system status, productivity statistics, and on-board diagnostics. Set-up parameters for up to 50 jobs can be stored and recalled, making changeover fast and easy. On-board diagnostics help troubleshoot potential problems and keep the system running reliably.
Automated Packaging Systems manufactures system-matched bags for use with the FAS SPrint Revolution in a wide range of sizes and features such as re-closable zippers, re-sealable flaps, easy-open perforations, and tamper-evident seals. The bags come in a choice of materials that can be pre-printed with high-resolution graphics, text and barcodes for use in retail and wholesale food applications.
