From optimum purchasing of raw materials, blending and processing through co-packing and warehousing to delivery of the goods – SternMaid offers the whole service chain from one source. At FiE in Paris, the contract manufacturer presented a wide range of options for outsourcing processes in the production of powdered foods, ingredients and food supplements and filling them into the packs requested by the customer.

Using fluid bed technology, SternMaid is able to influence the structure and thus the properties of particles for specific applications by drying, spray granulation, agglomeration, instantization or coating. The products resulting from fluid bed drying dissolve and disperse in liquids much more readily than spray-dried powder. This also facilitates handling of the goods, because the particles have better flow properties, are easier to dose and practically dustless.

Moreover, SternMaid recently commissioned an additional, fully-automated filling line for cans or tubs which greatly increases the plant’s capacity. It enables the co-packing specialist to handle up to 90 composite (wound), tin or plastic containers per minute. The line is designed for filling food supplements and granulated, extruded or powdered foods.
