Irish wine importer, Febvre & Company has announced the sale of its 99.79% shareholding in French subsidiary Paul Sapin to Les Grands Chais de France with immediate effect. Paul Sapin specialises in sourcing, developing, bottling and marketing of wines from around the world for sale in all major markets. Febvre acquired the majority shareholding in Paul Sapin in 1999 and has overseen its growth and development.

Les Grands Chais de France was established in Petersbach, Alsace in 1979 by its present CEO Joseph Helfrich.  The family owned group is the second largest producer and the number one exporter of French Wines around the world.  It is a leading player in the development, production and marketing of French wine and spirits in France and abroad.

Febvre has been to the forefront of the Irish wine and spirit industry for over 50 years with a wide and varied portfolio representing brands carefully sourced from around the world including Paulita, Les Chaises, Babington Brook as well as internationally acclaimed brands De Martino, Distell SA, Champagne Taittinger, Delas Freres,Maison Louis Latour, Francois Lurton, and others from around Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and Americans both north and south.  The sale of its shareholding in Paul Sapin will allow Febvre to concentrate on its core activities on the island of Ireland.
