F Bender acquired by a group of Europe-based cup makers
A group of cup making companies, based predominately in the south of Europe, have acquired paper cup maker F Bender
Firms Flo, Nupik and Dopla said that its acquisition of north Wales-based F Bender, also known as the Benders Paper Cup Company, is “a major development in their Pan-European manufacturing and supply strategy” which sees them operating businesses from six countries. It also gives them a joint turnover of more than €400m.
Benders Paper Cup Company managing director Andy Cunliffe said: “We have been working with Flo, Nupik and Dopla for a number of years and are very comfortable with their strategy and business values. Additionally we have received real commitments to support the continued growth and development of the business.
“We can only see positives for Benders, its suppliers and most importantly its customers, from becoming part of a group of companies that sell more than 20 billion cups and a wide range of food service packaging right across Europe.
“With the strong balance sheets of Flo, Nupik and Dopla to support development and investment, Benders will look to expand its industry leading range of vending and specialist hot cups.
“The combined Group synergies will see Benders developing new offerings to the dynamic sectors of coffee-to-go and fast food as well as building on its existing core markets of Vending and Wholesale”.
