Nicholl Food Packaging has further extended its range of aluminium foil trays for the fresh and convenience food sector with the addition of five new smoothwall variants.

The new range emphasises the company’s position as the leading supplier of food packing solutions with one of the largest and most comprehensive tray ranges available.

Smoothwall trays feature a smooth rim, which allows each tray to be hermetically heat sealed with standard film on high speed machines. For extended shelf life, gas flushing techniques can be incorporated into the filling and sealing phases of meal production.

The trays offer a robust, heavy-duty construction, which enables sleeves and cartons to be lightweighted, reducing total pack costs. They combine a quality, attractive appearance with user-friendly benefits such as easy handling, leak-proof seals and shatterproof when frozen, and they retain their strength and rigidity even at high oven and grill temperatures. In addition, all foil trays can be microwaved in modern microwave ovens.

Smoothwall trays are suitable for many different products types including ready to cook meat, poultry and fish, ready meals, barbecue products, vegetables and heated desserts. In particular, they help to minimise the handling of raw meat and poultry.

The five new trays are available in rectangular and round designs with different depths and a variety of design enhancements including ribbed sides and embossed squares on the base, making them ideal for a wide selection of applications.

Paul Ogiliev, Head of Sales, Nicholl Food Packaging, says, “The introduction of these latest variants underlines our pro-active new product development programme and our commitment to offering our customers the widest choice of tray types and designs in order to be able to tailor a solution to their precise requirements.”
