Europe launch for Primera Vintage Paper wine labelling system
Specialist colour label printer manufacturer Primera is introducing a new Vintage Paper Material for inkjet printing, specially designed for the company’s LX-Series colour label printers.
While the US-headquartered company already has a range of standard sizes available in the US, the new material will be unveiled to the wine trade at the London International Wine Fair 2013 in London this May.
The new Vintage Paper Material has a plain paper surface, a water-soluble glue and an unbleached liner.
While the new material can be described as biodegradable, the company says, its composition does mean that it is not waterproof.
“But customers who have seen so far have observed that the print looks beautiful, and it is a ‘green’ label, so we are positive it will become a great seller this year,” says Primera Technology Europe marketing manager, Monika Fricke.
Combined with its LX-Series colour printers, the new Vintage Paper Material provides wine producers or bottlers with a cost-effective system for producing labels in full colour for short runs or bespoke bottlings, Primera says.
“The printed quality and appearance of wine labels is extremely important,” the company says.
“The quality of the wine needs to be reflected by the labels used. Providing a professional appearance on packages can easily make the difference between a wine selling well or simply sitting on the shelf.”
