DSM to Exclusively Market BIOMILK 300 Residual Lactose Analyzer
DSM, a global science-based company active in health, nutrition and materials, will exclusively market BIOMILK 300, a compact residual lactose-analyzing device produced by BIOLAN, as from February 2018. For dairy producers, the BIOMILK 300 is a fast, cost-effective, and accurate analyzer for quantifying residual lactose levels in lactose-free and lactose-reduced dairy products.
Consumers are increasingly aware of the health appeal of lactose-free dairy, which is driving rapid growth for this segment. To keep pace with this growth, it is crucial for lactose-free dairy producers to have an accurate and fast measurement of the residual lactose-level at every moment in their process, resulting in shorter lead times.
DSM, the world-leading lactase specialist, recognized the need among its customers for fast, reliable measurement of residual lactose levels that is also cost-effective. As a result, DSM has partnered with BIOLAN, an innovative company which designs and manufactures analytical solutions based on biosensor technology, to bring BIOMILK 300 to a larger proportion of the global dairy industry.
“DSM is very pleased to partner with BIOLAN to bring this remarkable technology to a wider use within the dairy industry,” says Merel Roes, Global Business Line Manager Dairy Enzymes at DSM. “BIOLAN’s expertise with biosensor technology, together with DSM’s strong history as a leading lactase producer and partner in the dairy industry, allows us to meet the growing needs of manufacturers of lactose-free dairy products even better than before.”
The BIOMILK 300 offers several benefits, including having a fast analysis time of less than 3 minutes, being cost-effective and accurate with a high sensitivity that can detect and quantify residual lactose levels at less than 0.01%. It is also easy to use, requiring no extensive lab skills to operate or any additional equipment to read the results.
The BIOMILK 300 is recommended for use with Maxilact®, DSM’s market-leading lactase range. With Maxilact®, dairy producers can produce lactose-free dairy products that taste great while achieving lactose levels in products that are lower than 0.01%—the future standard in the industry.
