Dairy Crest Jugit ® makes Tesco milk greener
Dairy Crest will be rolling out Country Life milk bags to over 270 Tesco stores at the end of the month, following a successful 10 store trial period.
Milk bag uses 75% less plastic compared to the traditional two pint plastic polybottle.
JUGIT is a re-usable jug, designed specifically to make milk bag easy to use.

With only three actions required: bag in, secure corner and close lid, the JUGIT has been designed to offer consumers a simple way to reduce household waste and offer value for money.
Around 130,000 tonnes of plastic is currently used in milk packaging every year; converting to milk bag greatly reduces the associated environmental impact as less plastic is sent to landfill.
JUGIT and milk bag allows consumers to enjoy the benefits of milk whilst helping care for the environment as shoppers can take empty milk bags, together with plastic carrier bags, to most stores for recycling.
Andy Saitch, Dairy Crest Liquids Sales Director, said:
“I am delighted that Dairy Crest and Tesco are working together to deliver an innovative way to help shoppers reduce packaging.”
Simon Reeves, Senior Milk Buyer at Tesco, added: “I see the milk bag as not only appealing strongly to our shoppers, but also as an important step in helping to reduce our carbon footprint on milk.”
The roll out of the milk bag and JUGIT across Tesco stores extends Dairy Crest’s listings, which also include Sainsbury’s and Ocado with an ongoing trial in Asda.
