Crown offers a taste of the future of packaging at ProSweets 2016
CROWN Aerosols and Specialty Packaging Europe – a world leader in metal packaging technology – will be showcasing an exclusive preview of the future of packaging at ProSweets 2016.
Taking place in Cologne, Germany between January 31st and February 3rd 2016, ProSweets is the world’s largest tradeshow for the sweets and snacks industry. From its booth at Hall 10.1, Stand J010, Crown’s representatives will be demonstrating some of the company’s latest technologies for confectionery products.
Added Value and Interaction
On display at Crown’s stand will be a range of innovative solutions, including:
- Crown’s capability to add LED lighting to packaging, giving a striking and unique look to seasonal, limited edition and premium biscuits and confectionery products, enabling them to stand out on store shelves.
- GiftTag™ technology, which allows a video message to be embedded onto packaging using a QR code, enabling recipients to view personalized greetings on their own mobile device.
Range Extension
Crown will also be showcasing a number of recent solutions for confectionery products:
- The company’s newly extended Seated End range which now includes both a rectangular and a round shaped tin. This unique technology designed by Crown in house with custom tooling and machines developed for the manufacturing process, makes the curled seam at the base of a decorative tin invisible when placed on a flat surface, resulting in a more robust container with pure lines.
- New samples will be on display highlighting Crown’s additional shaping, printing and finishing capabilities that support brands in premiumizing their products to ensure they can continue to compete in a crowded biscuits and confectionery market.
Expert Support
Crown will also be spotlighting its comprehensive technical service solutions to support customers through the design and production of new packaging. Crown works with and for customers throughout the entire creative process, from initial product conception to the rolling out of the finished pack on their production lines. All of the products made by CROWN Aerosol and Specialty Packaging Europe are produced in Europe, not only providing a reliable supply chain for packaging, but also helping to accelerate time to market.
Veronique Curulla, European Marketing Director, CROWN Aerosols and Specialty Packaging Europe, says: “ All brands are unique so, in order to convey their individual identities, they need original, one-of-a-kind packaging that grab shoppers’ attention and convey the quality of the product within, before consumers have had a chance to taste it. With Crown’s expertise and technology, we can provide customers with a fully-customized product to meet their quality standards and support them in optimizing production line efficiency, giving them peace of mind when introducing a new packaging format.”
The Benefits of Metal
Crown’s increasingly lightweight metal packaging complies with all relevant food safety standards and legislation. With excellent barrier properties, metal packaging has an unbeatable shelf life and offers exceptional protection of the product within from both air and sunlight, preserving its taste and freshness for considerably longer than alternative materials. Crown’s packaging is 100 percent recyclable and, as metal recycles forever with no degradation, it can be used to produce new packaging over and over without the need for virgin raw materials, making it a sustainable and cost-effective format, as well as one that supports brands’ premium quality goals. In fact, the recycling rate is key – nearly 75% of all metal packaging is recycled today and the infrastructure is in place in Europe to recycle each and every can produced.
Headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, Crown Holdings, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of packaging products for consumer marketing companies around the world.
