Coveris provides flexible film packaging for Haloodies cooked meat range
UK-based packaging manufacturer Coveris has provided flexible film packaging, including printed lidding films, to halal food brand Haloodies and its partner CP Foods’ new cooked meat range.
Launched across 46 Tesco outlets in the UK, the new range includes seven ready-to-eat cooked chicken lines.
Also available on Tesco’s website, the new range intends to meet the growing demand for halal meat.
Developed at Coveris’ Winsford facility, the new range features Haloodies brand name, which combines ‘halal’ and ‘foodies’.
After an extrusion process, the high barrier top web film has been printed and laminated at Coveris’ site in Gainsborough, UK. The film offers better pack integrity, visual clarity and food safety.
KKR Halal, which owns the Haloodies brand, co-founder and managing director Imran Kausar said: “Our ambition is very clear: to improve the quality of halal products for those who consume it and cement Haloodies as the most trusted halal brand.
“Millennial halal consumers know there is a shortage of quality halal products.
“We have paid attention to our branding to ensure halal brands can be as attractive as mainstream brands.”
Coveris, an affiliated portfolio company of Sun Capital Partners, provides several solutions to improve the safety, quality and convenience of everyday products used every day.
In June, the company launched Hyacinth, a new thermoformed handle pot range to support nature-friendly packaging for food across Europe.
