The Coca-Cola Company is further tightening control over its North American bottling operations with the acquisition of Great Plains Coca-Cola Bottling, the fifth largest independent bottler in the US, for $360 million. The move follows last year’s $12.3 billion acquisition of the North American bottling operations of Coca‑Cola Enterprises, which sell approximately 80% of The Coca-Cola Company’s bottle and can volume in North America.
