Clondalkin Flexible Packaging to launch tactile packaging solutions
Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Kirchberg is set to launch new tactile packaging solutions at the FachPack trade show to be held in Nuremberg, Germany this month.
In order to develop the new solutions, Clondalkin has added various tactile features, including relief and soft touch, to their printing technology for flexible packaging.
The tactile elements can be used partially or across the entire surface of the product.
Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Kirchberg sales and marketing director Sander Kool said: “Traditionally packaging has been used for visual communication, but tactile is now recognised as an important feature for communicating with customers at the point of sale as well.
“This new tactile packaging technology allows brand owners to create a premium experience for the consumer when they handle the product; a critical step in the buying process.
“Brand owners can communicate certain product characteristics to influence the consumer’s perception and emotional connection, and have a positive impact on their buying behaviour.
“For example, our soft touch shrink sleeve is ideally suited to products such as liquid detergents where softness is an important product characteristic for the end consumer.”
The company, which produces polyester lids, aluminium lids, shrink sleeves and coffee creamer lidding, said that its new flexible packaging solutions can be used for multisensory packaging.
Clondalkin Flexible Packaging currently has 11 extrusion, printing and laminating and converting production facilities across Europe and North America.
Apart from the new tactile packaging solutions, the company will exhibit its other packaging solutions, such as its SkinTight and Wentopro films and FleXtreme printing technology, at FachPack.
