Caddick Construction Wins Calsberg Bottling Hall Contract
Yorkshire-based Caddick Construction has won a £7.2 million contract to design and build a new bottling hall for Carlsberg UK, at its brewery in Northampton.
The 7,000 sq m expansion to its current facilities will enable the company to double its production of top brands including Carlsberg, Carlsberg Export, Carlsberg Special Brew, Tuborg, Skol, Holsten and San Miguel beers to 10 million bottles a year. It is set to create up to 60 new jobs for the brewer when it opens in March 2013.
Stephen Shoesmith-Evans, Project Manager at Carlsberg UK, said: “It was clear Caddick Construction was the right partner to design and build the new bottling hall both in terms of the timescales we required and the attention they pay to the quality and finish of the building. We want the new bottling hall to both stand out externally as a great building, but also to raise the bar internally on our production environments and we believe Caddick is the right company to help us achieve that.”
Andrew Murray, Managing Director of Caddick Construction, said: “We are very excited to have been chosen by Carlsberg to deliver its new bottling hall at the Northampton brewery. We have worked hard to win the project and look forward to making it a success and to extending our expertise in this specialist sector of construction”.
