BÜHLER HELPS GLOBAL BERRY PRODUCERS ADVANCE FOOD SAFETY & SORTING EFFICIENCY
Bühler SORTEX will highlight pioneering new food safety and sorting technologies for frozen vegetable and berry processors during its educational seminar at the third International Conference ‘Berries of Ukraine – 2012: Frozen Produce & Fresh Market’.
Being held at the Stolychnyi Agricultural Center in Kiev on 24-25 May 2012, the conference is the Ukrainian berry industry’s main event, featuring over 20 high profile business speakers from around the globe. It is being attended by over 300 delegates from 12 countries, which account for 50% of the world’s total berry production.
Zhanna Zheget, Area Sales Manager, from Bühler SORTEX Ukraine will speak within day one of the programme, in a session which focusses on berry handling, processing and storage technologies. Her seminar will address some of the key current issues for the global berry industry. Entitled ‘Bühler Optical Sorting Technology for Berries’ she will advise attendees on food safety compliance in frozen vegetable and berry processing lines, state-of-the art technologies in optical sorting, solutions for customer service and support, plus value-added performance and profit generating approaches for global frozen vegetable and berry processors.
To further support berry producers attending the event, Bühler is planning a free exclusive ‘open day’ at one of its Ukrainian customer’s frozen berry production sites. This summer at a leading berry processing site, Bühler engineers will run a full range of SORTEX optical sorter technology presentations, complemented by a factory manager case study session on their practical experience of running Bühler SORTEX optical sorting machines. To close the session a leading expert in Ukrainian agriculture will give an industry presentation on the growth of the fruit and vegetable market within the country.
Bühler’s conference and open day activity is a result of its growing business success within the fledgling Ukrainian berry production industry. Within the Ukraine, Bühler has optical sorting machinery in several berry plants, including Tecofood and Galfrost.
Zhanna Zheget, Area Sales Manager from Bühler SORTEX says: “In 2006 we opened a Bühler office in Kiev, with the long term aim of supplying Ukrainian fruit and vegetable producers. Since then we have built successful relationships with key customers, supplied optical sorter machines across the country and offered the highest levels of customer support.
“Bühler’s SORTEX optical sorters offer berry producers the highest standards of quality and cleanliness for produce. Configured with Enhanced InGaAs cameras, high resolution bichromatic cameras and PROfile technology, Bühler’s SORTEX optical sorters outperform the market – in terms of foreign body detection and running costs.
“We look forward to speaking to global berry producers at the International Berries of Ukraine Conference and at our exclusive open day about how we can further support the development of the industry.”
