Bowyers adds snack packs and sharing tubs
Meat products manufacturer, Bowyers has made three of the UK’s favourite picnic snacks – mini eggs, cocktail sausages and mini sausage rolls – available in new snack bags and family tub sizes, as part of its Snackerz range.
The smaller bags are aimed more directly at busy professionals, commuters and drivers, Bowyers said. The mini egg bites and cocktail sausages are both available in seven-count bags, while the mini sausages are available in packs of six. All three offer mess-free portion control, the brand continued, and are a perfect addition to a lunchtime sandwich, slice or roll.
The range of tubs, meanwhile, have been launched to target families. They are available as tubs of 12 mini sausage rolls, 18 mini egg bites and 20 cocktail sausages.
According to a spokesperson for the UK-based brand, the move reflects consumers insight that shows the demand for protein-based snacks, as opposed to unhealthy crisps and chocolate, has risen. Research shows that 41% of “eat now occasions” are snacking. Of this, between 75% and 89% of shoppers claimed to snack between three and 3.5 times a week, meaning the launch of the grab bags and sharing tubs had the potential to tap into real consumer need.
Bowyers was founded in 1805 and is a large company based in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England. It is a manufacturer of meat products, with a well-known brand of sausages which are still produced today.
