Beam Suntory has agreed to sell its Spanish brandy and sherry business to Emperador. The all-cash transaction is valued at €275 million. The deal includes the Fundador, Harveys, Terry and Tres Cepas brands, as well as production operations in Jerez and Tomelloso, Spain.

Emperador is the world’s largest brandy producer through the Emperador brand. It is part of Alliance Global Group of the Philippines, which is owned by Dr Andrew L. Tan. Last year, Emperador acquired Whyte and Mackay, the world’s fifth largest Scotch whisky company.

Beam Suntory was created in 2014 by combining the world leader in bourbon and the pioneer in Japanese whisky to form a new company. Headquartered in the US, Beam Suntory is a subsidiary of Suntory Holdings of Japan, and is the world’s third largest premium spirits company.

Beam Suntory’s brands include the Jim Beam and Maker’s Mark bourbon brands and Suntory whisky Kakubin, as well as world renowned premium brands including Knob Creek bourbon, Yamazaki, Hakushu and Hibiki Japanese whiskies, Teacher’s, Laphroaig, and Bowmore Scotch whiskies, Canadian Club whisky, Courvoisier cognac, Sauza tequila, Pinnacle vodka, and Midori liqueur.
