Automated Packaging Systems
Bagging and protective packaging specialists at Automated Packaging Systems will unveil new ESD (Electro Static Discharge) Bags-on-a-Roll that protect sensitive electronic devices from product-damaging electrostatic fields.
“The polyester outer layer works with a metal layer to provide a Faraday Cage effect,” explains Automated Packaging Systems sales and marketing manager Andy Pretious. “Any electrical discharge occurring outside the bag is contained to the outer surface of the metal layer so can’t affect the components inside, a feature that’s essential when packaging sensitive electronic devices.”
ESD Bags-on-a-Roll can be system-matched with a flexible, semi-automatic Autobag bagger, enabling manufacturers of sensitive electronic components to achieve packing speeds of up to 2000 bags an hour. The system can feed, print, open and seal ESD bags automatically, with thermal transfer printing available to put product information such as bar codes, text and graphic directly on the bag.
