Paragon Labeling Systems has launched the PLS110 automated labelling system, an entry-level unit geared toward modest-size packaging firms, and processing operations looking to bring labelling in house.

The team at Paragon Labelling Systems has designed the machine to marry affordability with a number of advanced features. The compact footprint, according to the company, makes it suitable for operations with limited floor space, and it reportedly offers capabilities not usually found on entry-level machines.

Tough enough

In an interview with FoodProductionDaily.com, Paragon Labelling Systems director C raig Blonigen said the machine is sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of food processing and packaging.

“It is constructed of all aluminum, stainless steel and UHMW, an industrial plastic,” he said. “It will not rust or corrode in food packaging environments.”

Blonigen added that the PLS110 features a PLC controller and a remote mount operator interface—helpful, since most food plants label in odd orientations. Other features include robust stepper motor and stepper drive.

Machine capabilities

The PLS110 is suited for a number of applications, including RFID and pre-printed decorative labels. Minimum label dimensions are 12.7×12.7mm; maximum dimensions are 127×457.2mm; a wide roll kit (for labels up to 177mm wide) is available.
