OAL have been granted a £10,000 grant from Agri-Tech Growth for the continued development of their work into streamlining data recording in the food and drink industry. OAL Connected is a suite of software designed to deliver food safety, traceability and secure packaging and date codes.

The initiative will aim to simplify data recording in the food industry by developing a system that simultaneously collates the print information from several different makes of check-weighers on food production lines, and store this information in a central database.

“This project seeks to make data collection more accurate and efficient by compiling data from food production lines into one central location – enabling OA’s clients to comply with food regulations more easily” said Mark Reeve, Chairman of Agri-Tech Growth Initiative.

With a reputation for delivering innovative solutions to food process design and software engineering problems, this project will further utilise their extensive skills and knowledge in order to improve the food industry.

The Eastern Agri-Tech Growth Initiative is run by the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership (LEP) with support from New Anglia LEP, Norfolk County Council, Cambridgeshire County Council and the local authorities covering the area.

“The Agri-Tech grant will enable important developments such that OAL can continue to support our customers in meeting the increasing compliance requirements to ensure food safety” commented Jake Norman, Sales and Marketing Manager of OAL.
