ADM in Talks to Sell Cocoa Business
Archer Daniels Midland Company is considering selling its cocoa business. Formed in 1997, ADM Cocoa incorporates twelve cocoa and industrial chocolate operations in nine countries. ADM Cocoa is one of the world’s largest processors and suppliers of cocoa and chocolate products
“Consistent with our commitment to create shareholder value, we regularly evaluate strategic options and maintain ongoing dialogue with other agribusiness companies to explore opportunities,” says ADM spokesperson Jackie Anderson. “We are currently engaged in discussions about the potential sale of our cocoa business. These discussions are ongoing, and there can be no assurance that they will result in the signing of a transaction or definitive agreement. We will communicate further if appropriate.”
In addition to cocoa, ADM also converts oilseeds, corn and wheat into products for food, animal feed, industrial and energy uses.
