Dairy group Emmi has become the first listed Swiss company to be awarded the ‘Best Board Practice’ label. The Best Board Practice label is awarded following a comprehensive assessment conducted by the Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems (SQS) and is renewed every three years.

The SQS auditors rated Emmi’s corporate governance as “firmly established and embodied,” adding: “The activity and organisation of Emmi’s Board of Directors are of a high standard. Besides the comprehensive process and documentation inspection, the interviews conducted with all members of the Board as well as the CEO and CFO provided a more in-depth insight into the organization and activities of the Board of Directors. In particular the dynamic Board culture, as well as the interaction between the Board of Directors and Group Management, help to foster openness and transparency, which create a genuine culture of trust. The leadership of the Board and the professionalism of its processes are described as very good by all Board members. The Board of Directors’ considerable self-assessment skills set it apart.”

This makes Emmi the first listed Swiss company to have a certified Board of Directors.
